Stevedoring

• Import: unloading cargo from vessels holds, or deck, up to under hook at quay.
• Export: loading cargo from under hook at quay to vessel deck or hold.

Shore handling:

• Import: receive cargo at quayside and organize its transfer from quayside to the storage area in the port/terminal.
• Export: organize cargo transfer from the port storage area up to quayside
